Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of BOOKD ("BOOKD", "we", "us"), a software platform operated from Guernsey that helps beauty and wellness businesses take bookings, payments and loyalty online. By creating an account or making a booking, you agree to these terms.

1. Who we are

BOOKD is operated by the BOOKD team in Guernsey, Channel Islands. Contact: hello@bookd-it.com.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create a client account. Salon accounts must be opened by an authorised representative of the business. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account.

3. Bookings, deposits and cancellations

Bookings are a contract between you and the salon. The salon sets its own deposit, reschedule and cancellation policy, which is shown to you before payment. BOOKD collects deposits on the salon's behalf via SumUp or Stripe and passes them through. Refunds and chargebacks are handled by the salon, in line with the policy you agreed to at booking.

4. Salon (business) subscriptions

Salons subscribe to BOOKD on a monthly basis. A 14-day free trial is offered on all paid tiers and can be cancelled at any time during the trial with no charge. After the trial, subscriptions auto-renew monthly until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use BOOKD to: break the law, harass other users, scrape or copy data you do not own, attempt to bypass security or access controls, or upload content you do not have the right to share. We may suspend any account that does.

6. Content and consent

Salons own the photos, notes and client records they enter. Clients own the photos and reviews they submit. By uploading content you grant BOOKD a non-exclusive licence to host and display that content as needed to run the service. Treatment photos are only shared publicly when the client has given explicit consent in the app.

7. Payments

Payments are processed by SumUp and/or Stripe. BOOKD never stores full card numbers. Payment processor terms apply in addition to ours.

8. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted. Planned maintenance is communicated where possible.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BOOKD's total liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of revenue, or loss of data.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, or where required by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Guernsey courts, unless mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise.

12. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged in the app at least 14 days before they take effect.
